1. What are your names?
Ava: Hi! I’m Ava.
Marie: Hi, I’m Marie.
2. How did you start this blog?
Ava: I have always wanted to do this but I didn’t want to do it alone. I wanted to create a team to grow and inspire others!
Marie: Ava and I thought that it would be nice to keep a conversational journal to bolster our friendship and then we thought, why not publish this online? And so it happened.
3. Why blog?
Ava: Uh hello? It’s free! And you get to write about whatever it is in your mind and the coolest part of it all is somewhere someone out there is reading your writings right now and finding it helpful and comforting.
Marie: Well, it’s been something I’ve always wanted to do for a very long time. I’ve also tried keeping one but doing it on my own turned out to be too time-consuming and I soon started losing motivation. I am glad that Ava and I have each other to lean on.
4. How often will you post?
Ava: Once a week is my goal. If I end up going out more than usual, then maybe I’ll write more.
Marie: 1-2x/week. 1 recipe and 1 journal entry is my goal.
5. Tell us a little about yourself.
Ava: I am different from what I look. You may assume I’m a fragile little person but I’m quite tough inside. I try to take every life experience as part of a learning experience and currently I’m learning to enjoy my life as it is now. I love coffee and I’m always in the search of finding good books to read.
Marie: Forever young at heart, a 27 year old female grad school drop out who is trying to turn her life around by taking the GRE. Currently disguised as a freelance English teacher during the day and becomes an emotional sap at night because I am either reading or writing the crap out of whatever is bothering me (and the late night is probably getting to me as well). I like cats more than dogs, reading more than watching, and being single than taken.
6. What are you trying to get out of this blog?
Ava: I want to help people. I want the people to know that they are not alone. I moved out of state on my own at an early age. I still needed guidance and support from my parents and friends but I had to solely rely on myself which was very hard thing to do. Nobody should ever feel like they’re alone because if you just look around and reach out for help, you’d be surprised how many people are out there who will support you and love you for who you are! I want to be that person to reach out to those who are lost.
Marie: An increased level of self-awareness. Mastery of meditation. And some male fans (just kidding!).
7. What makes your blog stand out?
Ava: The stuff my partner and I write about is very personal and by sharing our past and thoughts, we want to make the viewers to feel comforted and reassured that IT’S OKAY. Being honest makes our blog special.
Marie: That it doesn’t have a specialized niche yet. It is about anything and everything.
8. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Ava: 1) I like to sleep a lot. I don’t get enough during the week with amount of work and other goals I’m trying to accomplish so, whenever the weekend arrives, I SLEEP. 2) I LOVE coffee. My morning doesn’t start until I get a cup of a delicious Donut Shop coffee with sweet coconut creamer. 3) I’m a huge make up fan. If you ever see me out all about, or even at the grocery market, you will notice I always have a freshly done make up on. 4) Nails, hair, organizing, cleaning, cooking, well I try.
Marie: I like to read. Talk to me on any given day and you’ll most likely find that I always have some sort of (if not more than one) book that I am trying to finish. I also like to run. I’m not good at it though. Lastly, I like to cook/bake.
9. What is your passion/dream?
Ava: My passion is teaching. I love kids. I can’t wait to finish school and be a kindergarten teacher. My dream is to be a mom, not just a mom, a good mom. I CANNOT WAIT! I want to create family traditions and holiday trips and watch my kids grow.
Marie: My passion lies in healthcare. My news subscriptions revolve around the newest healthcare issues as I always try to stay up-to-date in the field. My dream is to gain a career one day through which I will be allowed to interact with/help patients on a deep, individual level.
10. Tell us a secret of yours.
Ava: (None of my family knows about this ‘til this day except my siblings) when I was 16, I lied to my aunt that I was going to the church retreat camp but instead, I went back to my hometown where my boyfriend lived. There I stayed for three romantic nights!
Marie: My boobs are so small that whenever I eat a lot, my tummy sticks out more than my boobs do!
